Synopsis

During the first days of the pandemic lockdown, a small group of Chinese tourists is trapped in a Thai hotel. Total lockdown triggers emotional entanglements, tensions, and the revelation of long-kept secrets. The film reflects on the pandemic and its devastating effects on younger generations, drawing inspiration from the director’s own experience.

Director

Xiaoshuai Wang (Shanghai, 1966) is a filmmaker, writer and producer. His first film The Days (1993) was selected as one of the 100 best films of all time by the BBC. Wang’s works have competed at the Cannes Film Festival four times, three times at the Berlinale, and also at the Venice and San Sebastian film festivals.
