Synopsis

Nelum is a 31-year-old mother who is six months pregnant. Based on a true story, her happy family doesn’t know how to react after being diagnosed with late-stage breast cancer. Nelum does not want to endanger the life of her unborn child, so she refuses any medical treatment. Her difficult decision puts the doctors in a dilemma and despairs her husband, who chooses the life of his wife before the life of his future son.

Director

Sanjeewa Pushpakumara (Trincomalee, 1977) is a director, screenwriter and producer. In 2008, he completed his Masters in Communication at Kelaniya University. In 2009, Sanjeewa was selected for the Busan International Film Festival Asian Film Academy. His first feature film, Flying Fish, premiered at the Rotterdam International Film Festival. In 2014, Sanjeewa was invited by the Venice Film Festival to develop his third film project Peacocks’ Lament.
