Synopsis
After the sudden death of her mother, ten-year-old Moja becomes the unexpected adult in her fragmented family, trying to unite her troubled older sister, Vesna, and her estranged father. A father clinging to routine and memories of his home in Slovenia; Vesna trying to overcome her own pain and bewilderment through self-absorption; and Moja maintaining the order of a broken home. With a delicate and meticulous handling and understanding of interpersonal dynamics and the grand significance of small gestures, writer-director Sara Kern manages to convey a compassionate story about loss and consolation in this impressive feature film with which she makes her debut.
