SYNOPSIS

This dramatic thriller takes place in China in 1997. A series of murders strikes the city of Fentun. The crimes mysteriously stop without the authorities being able to find the perpetrator. Eight years later, a young policeman close to one of the victims decides to reopen the investigation despite all the consequences it brings. His discoveries disrupt the fake outcome that had brought to an end the scheme.

BIOGRAPHY

After graduating from the Art Academy of Xi’an, Zhang Ji studied photography management at the Beijing Film Academy. He developed this labour in the films Shi Mu Di (Ten Acres of Land, Chen Baoxun; 2001), Guo Yan (The Orchard, Hu Zhe; 2007), Ba Bai Bang (Letters from Death Row, Ke Feng; 2008), which competed in New Directors in San Sebastián, and North by Northeast. Ping Yuan Shang De Mo Xi is his debut as a director.
