SYNOPSIS

Russian military base in Kyrgyzstan. Maria, wife of the base’s deputy commander, wants to escape from that narrow world and longs for her husband to be transferred back to Russia. Meanwhile, she begins a relationship with her husband’s partner, Captain Krainov, who teaches judo to her son. The rapid development of their romance changes the lives of Maria and her family in tragic and irreversible ways.

BIOGRAPHY

Maxim graduated in 2015 as a writer and director from the film department of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, with Oliver Stone as his mentor. Since 2009 he continues to make documentaries and feature films that have been nominated and awarded at various international film festivals. In addition, he has directed television series for the most important Russian television networks.
