SYNOPSIS

Vasanti is released from prison in the megalopolis of Calcutta after serving a five-year sentence and realizes that her husband has not come to meet her. She waits anxiously and desperately. Chandu, who has also been released on the same day as her, offers to help her find her husband. Chandu is an experienced swindler and possesses an ulterior motive. Despite her suspicions she allows herself to be helped. When they arrive in the neighborhood where she used to live, they notice that the shantytown has been replaced by a glitzy shopping mall and a few residential buildings. With no clue as to the whereabouts of her husband and seven-year-old son, Vasanti suffers a profound crisis, but she will not give up and together with Chandu persists in an erratic search through a physical, personal, social and emotional labyrinth that captivates the viewer.
