JESUSA

Jesusa Reyes is a manicurist and masseuse who serves her loyal customers in her local slum community. She lives in a rough and noisy neighbourhood, rife with drug addicts and pushers, was divided by a much polluted creek whose residents need to ride a raft to get across to the other side. Jesusa has suffered quietly alone her recidivist philanderer husband Drigo, but comes to her wit’s end when he moves in with his latest mistress. Left alone, her life starts to spiral out of control and she succumbs to the sordid ways of the neighbourhood drug addicts.

Ronald Carballo is a director and screenwriter known for “Bhoy Intsik” (2017), “Jesusa” (2019) and “Mainit na tubig” (2006). He has received many nominations and winnings for PMPC Star Awards for TV and Movies, for his scrits in different TV Dramas and the movie “Bhoy Intsik”, which won the Award to the Movie Actor of the Year in 2018. After performing as a freelance TV and film director since his debut, he joined Gerron film Productions in 2010.
