The Steed

The horse has been an essential piece in the life of the Mongolian man. The almost sacred bond between the two made Mongolia one of the greatest empires in history. The film shows the link between the horse and the land, and at the same time the communion between the rider and his steed through the story of a child from whom the horse, his only property, is stolen, showing us the true meaning of family and country begins in the land that has seen us born.

Erdenebileg “Ebi” Ganbold studied Art and Direction at the Mongolian State University of Art and Culture, graduating in 1999. He soon began performing at the Mongolian National Theatre and has appeared in at least twenty films including Anu Queen, Trapped Abroad I & II, and First Love. He has also made several films that have broken box office records in his country. He has won three Mongolian Film Academy awards, for Best Director, Best Photography and Best Producer.
