Synopsis
The Mekong River is one of the main arteries of Southeast Asia. It is the source of life for a huge ecosystem, and for millions of people who sustain themselves from it, and also it has great cultural importance for various communities that settle on its margins. However, phenomena such as overfishing, climate change, hydroelectric projects, unsustainable development, and destructive agricultural practices threaten the river’s existence. MEKONG 2030, is the result of a project that brings together five directors who will narrate stories occurring in the year 2030, that invite the audience to the conservation of this source of life.

Kulikar Sotho (Cambodia), Anysay Keola (Laos), Sai Naw Kham (Myanmar), Anocha Swichakornpong (Thailand) and Pham Ngoc (Vietnam) were the selected directors to participate in this project.
