Director: Pema Tseden
In Tibet in the 1980s, brothers Dargye and Drolkar turned their parents’ condoms into balloons, ignoring the consequences. Beyond scandalising the whole village, what was really worrisome was that they left their parents without condoms. Unfortunately, it coincides with the introduction of the one-child policy in China, consequently, the couple, who already have three children, do not know how they will manage.
Pema Tseden is a film director and screenwriter. He was born in the year of the Cultural Revolution and graduated with a degree in Tibetan Language and Literature. Later on he became the first Tibetan student of the Beijing Film School. Throughout his career he has accumulated awards as the best director and his films have received international recognition. Pema Tseden triumphed with his film Jinpa (2018) which was screened at the last edition of the Asian Film Festival Barcelona.
