Ayu

Nishmi is a pediatrician who wants to become a mother. When she manages to get pregnant she decides to surprise her husband. But, she has an accident, miscarries and is seriously injured, although she tries to rebuild her life. But the doctor tells her that the seriousness persists and seems to be getting worse. This contributes to her isolation, because her husband distances himself and his colleagues, and the family in general. Her situation becomes untenable and she decides to leave home without telling anyone. She only wants to be reunited with an old friend and Ayu, a girl who has been her patient for a long time.

Chathra Weeraman made his directorial debut with the biopic Aloko Udapdj, achieving unprecedented box-office success in Sri Lanka, as well as critical acclaim.
