A Man without a Shadow

Mahan, the main character, is a documentary filmmaker. He makes a film about a murderwhich turns out to be rejected by the producer and he is fired as a result. This makes him feel his personal life is in danger, especially when the victim’s family threatens him. To help Mahan, his wife Sayeh goes to work for a large company, and travels to Spain with her boss to sign a big business deal, never to return.

Born in 1955 in Tehran, Alireza Raisian is known for his first feature film Reyhaned, which was presented at festivals in Montreal, Turin, Nantes and Berlin in the early 1990s. A graduate of the Faculty of Television, he began his professional career as a screenwriter and assistant director. His second film Journey, based on a script by Abbas Kiarostami, was screened in San Sebastian, Sao Paulo, Hong Kong and London. The film Deserted Station won the Best Actress award at the Montreal IFF. His last three films Havana File, Love at Forty and Time to Love also participated in many international festivals.
