Lhamo & Skalbe

Lhamo and Skalbe discover that they cannot get married, because he is already married. When he sets out to find his ex-wife to annul the marriage, he learns that she has abandoned worldly life, which will complicate the divorce process. Lhamo, on the other hand, becomes more and more distant and immersed in herself, which will lead her to connect with her deepest secrets and develop a deep fear of marriage.

Sonthar Gyal was born into a family of shepherds in Qinghai province, in the region of Tibet. He studied at the Beijing Film Academy and is one of the first generation of Tibetan filmmakers. He has participated in several film festivals, including Berlin and Shanghai.
