ON THE EDGE (NA GRANI)

The film depicts the story of two teens that live in two different worlds, as a metaphore of life as an eternal clash of destinies. Lack of friendly support, parental warmth and social conflicts are pushing the underage heroes of this story to a dangerous edge. The film has been presented at the 2018 Russian Kinoshok IFF’s main competition, and it won the award to the Best Debut at the Shaken aimanov International Film Festival 2018.

Aldiyar Bairakimov (1991, Almaty) received a specialty “Director, Producer of Cinema and TV” at the Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts. After receiving a master’s degree in “Author’s Documentary Film Directing” at the Academy of Arts, he has been a participant and laureate of many national and international competitions and film festivals.
