Synopsis
Pitch is a gay man whose life is falling apart because of his incurable cancer. To heal himself spiritually, Pitch dedicates the time he has left to make Bai Sri. Pitch comes back to his hometown. Here he meets Shane, his ex-boyfriend. When Shane meets Pitch decides to become a monk. During the time where Shane is trying to find peace of mind through monkhood, Pitch dies. Shane practices Asupakhamathan, a form of meditation. One night, Monk Sanchai turns very sick and becomes unconscious due to meditation. While Shane reaches the goal of Asupakhamathan, Sanchai dies from his sickness. This time Shane calmly understands the fragility and suffering in human life.
Director’s Biography
Anucha Boonyawatana was born in Thailand, in 1981. She is the founder of G-Motif Production, one of the largest video production companies in Thailand. She won the Young Thai Artist Award. Anucha’s first feature film “The Blue Hour” is selected to be in Panorama section of Berlin International Film Festival 2015. Malila is the director’s second feature film.
