“Afghan Cinema after Afghan Cinema” by Sahra Mani

In light of the celebration of the cycle Afghan Women and Cinema that Casa Asia organizes with Cineteca Madrid from March 8 to 12, 2022, we will have the presence of the Afghan filmmaker Sahra Mani who will introduce her film A Thousand Girls Like Me on the occasion of Women’s Day.

Casa Asia schedules a talk with Sahra Mani on Monday, March 7 at 7 pm, which will take place in its center in Madrid, to talk about cinema in general, and in particular to talk about cinema made by women in her country, as well as the impact that the latest events have had since August 2021 on the trajectory and projects that were being carried out.

This event aims to gather live information from a filmmaker who founded the Afghanistan Doc House in Kabul, and who was a professor until very recently at the university of this city. She has been one of the great defenders of Afghan women’s rights and continues to be active in her latest film project which is in its editing phase.
