Asian Film Festival Barcelona 2020 will continue as planned with a hybrid format, screening online all the titles already programmed for FILMIN, until cinemas are allowed to reopen to continue its schedule
After the festival’s opening on October 28th and yesterday’s special session which had full attendance, the Asian Film Festival Barcelona is adapting to the new restrictions issued by the Catalan Government. The measures to be implemented from today, October 30th, are to postpone its on-site programming. Whenever the sanitary circumstances allow it and when the cinema can be reopened, the festival will reschedule its titles at its four venues. We hope to be able to be back on the big screen within 15 days or at least before the end of the year. Meanwhile, fifty films will be available on FILMIN’s streaming platform as planned, keeping the festival schedule on track along with other parallel activities. Moreover, the Festival is resuming its divulgative efforts by programming a series of new e-dialogues. These virtual sessions with experts on film theory and criticism on Asian cinema will come back to fill the schedule due to the current circumstances.
