Previously, Mathew Higgins was a white, middle-class guy who led a suburban existence. Now, he is a man shaped by pain;, angry, alone and without a family. When his Aboriginal grandson whom he barely knew re-enters his life, he will try hard to reconcile his deepest pain with the child in front of him.

Michael Joy is a film director whose unique work shows his ability to direct actors and non-actors by giving them authentic and very powerful performances. His first film, Men’s Group, was screened at the film festivals of Rotterdam, Sydney, Melbourne, Warsaw and Singapore. It won the award for Best Film, Best Screenplay, and Best Actor, from the Australian Independent Film Awards.
