The Charcoal

In Gheriat, a village in rural Iran, a modest charcoal producer is facing a host of tragedies after his son Yashar is sentenced to prison.

Esmaeel Monsef (1975) studied at the Bahandish Film School in Tehran. He has directed four short films and several documentaries while working as an editor and editor. Charcoal 2019 is his first feature film.
