Synopsis

“Women of the Weeping River” tells the story of two women in a remote Muslim community caught in an escalating blood feud that stretches back generations. Satra, a Young widow who has lost her loved ones because of the conflict, goes against the wishes of her family in the hopes of stopping their feud that has been going for severals years.

Director’s Biography

Sheron Dayoc is a director and artist from the Philippines. He studied at the Film Institute of the University of the Philippines and later at the Asian Film Academy in Pusan. “Ways of the Sea” was his first feature film, which earned him the Best Film and Best Director awards at Cinemalaya in 2010 and was presented at the Berlinale Forum in 2011
