Synopsis
A funny and heartwarming chronicle of a creative girl’s journey through life and love, from her early school days to adulthood. As she navigates societal expectations about beauty and romance, she begins to question the “curse of love” that insists women must be beautiful and in love to find happiness.
Director
Shiika Okada (1996, Tokyo, Japan) graduated from the Department of Intermedia Art at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2018, and, in addition to making animation, she also creates music and writes scripts. Her work stands out for its humorous exploration of themes related to sexuality and the lack of understanding that often surrounds it. Throughout her career, she has received several accolades, with her animated film Maternal Awakening (2021) being especially acclaimed.
