Synopsis
Renowned Spanish conceptual artist Antoni Muntadas embarks on a quirky journey as he travels to Hanoi for the very first time. Delving into the essence of this city, Muntadas immerses himself in its vibrant wet market and contemplatively wanders through its quiet cemetery as he is wont to do when visiting a new city. Through his quirky and introspective observations between the heavy traffic in the urban centre, this documentary is an exploration of the urban landscape and the tapestry of life within Hanoi.
Director
Nông Nhật Quang is a filmmaker based in Hanoi. He started out making short documentaries on queer experience, creative industry and cultural heritage. He is now working on his debut feature film. Titled Baby Jackfruit Baby Guava. The project has gained support from Cannes Docs, the IDFA Bertha Fund, DMZ Docs Pitch, Docs by the Sea, and SGIFF. Quang is a student of American Film Showcase and currently works as a program officer at doc cicada, an initiative to support young documentarians.
