Synopsis
Hassan is a Hong Kong-born Pakistani child awaiting the refugee statute in Canada. His father died in a car accident that involved Yat, a refugee from China in this country since the 70s. When Hassan joins a refugee gang and gets in trouble with the police, Yat decides to help him escape, but Hassan discovers the truth about his father’s death.
Director
Kok Rui Lau is a Malaysian writer and director based in Hong Kong that participated in the Golden Horse Film Academy in 2019. His short films Let’s Get Lost (2017), Have A Nice Day (2018), How High The Moon (2019) and Rootless in the City (2019) have been selected by various film festivals such as the Asian American International Film Festival (USA), the Taipei Golden Horse International Film Festival (Taiwan) and the Fresh Wave International Short Film Festival (Hong Kong).
