Synopsis
Gyeong-su is a blind man with excellent acupuncture skills. He receives recognition from Lee Hyung-ik, the head royal physician, and enters the palace. Meanwhile, Crown Prince So-hyun, who had been taken hostage by Qing, returns home after eight years away. Soon after welcoming his son, King Injo becomes overwhelmed with anxiety. Then one night, Gyeong-su who can see faintly in the dark, witnesses the death of Crown Prince So-hyun. In his struggle to reveal the truth, great secrets and conspiracy are unveiled and Gyeong-su falls in danger of losing his life. After his son’s death, King Injo’s anxiety turns into madness that grows out of control. Gyeong-su, who witness the death of the Crown Prince, slowly reveals the true faces of the culprits involved in the case.
Director
AN Tae-jin was an assistant director in the movie The King and the Clown that brought in over 10 million viewers. Since then, he has gained solid experiences throughout his career in various works and makes his full-length feature debut with The Night Owl. As director AN Tae-jin claims the “unpredictable story,” as a must-see point of the movie, The Night Owl gives the audience breathtaking tension with unforeseeable plot development from start to finish.
