Synopsis
Once in a Blue Moon is a delicate portrait of a family threatened by the well-intentioned lies its members tell each other. Mei-chen’s family seems happy, but all the members are secretly struggling. Mei-chen is trapped because she must deal with a toxic boss; her brother won’t tell the family that he has separated from his wife; and Mei-chen’s mother is worried that her untold past may shatter her family. Between compassionate and hilarious, this tragicomedy transmits a comforting message about how to learn to live.
