Seaside Serendipity at the Sakura Fest in Gavà

Casa Asia is joining Sakura Fest, the festival dedicated to manga, anime and Japanese culture held in Gavà, with a screening of the film Seaside Serendipity by Japanese director Satoko Yokohama.

Sōsuke is a secondary school student living a carefree life in a quiet coastal village. Recently, artists from all corners of the world have flocked to the area to take part in an art project. It is at this point that strange encounters begin to occur between naive adults and shrewd children. Different stories and different characters all play a part in a conclusion that makes this summer unforgettable.
Satoko Yokohama
Satoko Yokohama was born in Aomori Prefecture (Japan) in 1978. She graduated from the Tokyo Film School with the film Chiemi and Kokkunpatcho (2005) and subsequently directed German plus Rain (2009), which won the New Directors Award from the Directors Guild of Japan. Her breakthrough came with the feature film ITO (2021), set in her native Aomori, which won the Best Film Award and the Audience Award at the 16th Osaka Asian Film Festival.
