Synopsis
Chloe sets out to remove her entertaining but alcoholic mother Sharon from the claws of temptation to start new lives in an idyllic location. They find themselves on an expected road trip with mysterious West African man called Dalu. As the three embark on a trip in Chloe’s rundown wagon, misconceptions and misunderstandings lead to the realization that facing your fears is the first step to freedom.
Director
Kelly Schilling is an Australian director and screenwriter based primarily in Melbourne and Adelaide. She specializes in film, television, and online content creation, with experience in both writing and directing. Raised in a financially struggling single-parent household, her mother was a survivor of domestic violence. In adulthood, Kelly herself experienced a relationship with a partner dealing with addiction. These personal experiences have led her to view filmmaking as a therapeutic tool—using storytelling as a way to confront and release past pain and trauma. She known for Kind of Man (2009), MaveriX (2022) and With or Without You (2024), which premiered at the Adelaide Film Festival in 2024.
