Synopsis

A young man is charged with drug trafficking. He pleads guilty under undue influence from his defence lawyer, in exchange for a reduced sentence. Hard-edged former cop Fok is the unconventional prosecutor assigned to the case. He is convinced that the conviction is unusual and decides to conduct his own investigation. Fok is forced to risk his own life and career to uncover the truth and bring the real villains to justice.

Director

Donnie Yen is a Hong Kong actor, director, and martial artist. He entered the film industry after auditioning for action choreographer Yuen Woo-ping. Since landing his first starring role in 1984’s Drunken Tai Chi, Yen has become not only one of the world’s top action actors, but also one of the best action choreographers in the business, with four Hong Kong Film Awards for Best Action Choreography under his belt. In addition to his successful career in Hong Kong and Mainland China, Yen has also appeared in Hollywood films such as Blade II (2002), Rogue One (2016), Mulan (2020), and John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023). The Prosecutor (2024) is his sixth directorial effort.
