Synopsis

Tehran, An Unfinished History uncovers a lost century in the transformation of Tehran through footage from Iran’s national film archives. Revealing a city of striking contrasts, while highlighting its cosmopolitan style and deep social divides, the film shows how revolutionary Iranian cinema captured a world that no longer exists. Using 150 archival images, the director offers a moving look at a forgotten urban past, reconstructing the nation’s history through the sociopolitical changes of its capital.
