Synopsis
A queer boy runs away from home to a big city where he knows no one. There he meets other youths who have come to Manila in search of happiness. To provide for themselves they have to offer sexual services to old men. When one of them dies, they decide to fulfil his last wish – to go home. The journey begins.
Director
Hil Petersen Miranda Vargas (1992), also known as Petersen Vargas, is a Filipino filmmaker. Coming from a family of lawyers, he initially majored in Political Science at the University of the Philippines Diliman, but shifted to film after one year. He graduated cum laude from the University of the Philippines Film Institute in 2014. He made his feature directorial debut with 2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten (2016), which won Best Picture at the Cinema One Originals Film Festival and earned him widespread industry attention. In 2020, he gained mainstream popularity for directing the hit BL (Boys’ Love) web series Hello Stranger. His latest feature, Some Nights I Feel Like Walking (2024), was developed through the Southeast Asia Fiction Film Lab, and selected for international platforms including Cannes’ Cinéfondation L’Atelier and Locarno’s Open Doors Hub.
