Synopsis
In a city dominated by corruption, scandals, and injustice, the enigmatic Myagmar leads a solitary life after spending 14 years in prison. Marked both physically and emotionally by this period, his only companions are the stray dogs he has rescued over the years. His life takes an unexpected turn when he finds work as a funeral car driver and meets two people who will redefine his existence: a Buddhist monk and Saruul, the daughter of a coffin maker, with whom he forms a deep bond. When Saruul becomes the target of media harassment, Myagmar embarks on a quest for revenge, determined to bring justice to a fractured world.
Director
Janchivdorj Sengedorj (Ulaanbaatar, 1976) is a Mongolian filmmaker who studied directing at the Bers College of Media and Cinematic Arts. From 2000 to 2003, he was the director of the Film Institute of the National Youth Theatre, and since 2018, he has been a board member of the Mongolian Film Industry Association. His filmography includes Life (2018), I am the Sun (2019), The Sales Girl (2021), and his latest feature, Silent City Driver (2024), which won the Grand Prix for Best Film at the Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn (PÖFF) 2024 and was selected for the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) 2024 and the Far East Film Festival 2024.
