Synopsis

The cool-eyed, unflappable Nao Soma is a gifted photographer who studies in an arts college in Osaka. With an SLR camera strapped around her neck, she leads a photography-centred life, walking around seeking subjects. Her friends Yamada, Sayo and Tada, who also study photography, circle her like planets around the sun, resentful and adoring in equal measure. The film captures a liminal moment in the lives of four soon-to-be graduates. As they struggle with questions of worth and future, the certainty of Nao’s path becomes both a beacon of hope and a burden. After graduation, the four begin their own lives. They meet again after four years and learn that Yamada has disappeared.
