Synopsis
A former war veteran returns from war to a big, dangerous city rife with corruption. He has no name, feels no pain, and shows no mercy, punishing the greedy and the rich. He has no choice: kill or be killed. He is determined to protect his missing younger brother’s family by finding his brother’s wife, all the while rebelling against the system and avoiding his many vengeful enemies.
Director
Adilkhan Yerzhanov (1982) graduated from the Kazakh National Academy of Arts as a film director in 2009 and then continued his training in New York. He is a two-time participant in the Official Programme of the Cannes Film Festival for The Owners (2014) and The Gentle Indifference of the World (2018), and winner of the Asia Pacific Screen Awards for Achievement in Directing for A Dark Dark Man (2019). He is a member of the European Film Academy. His latest film, Moor (2024), had its world premiere at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) 2024.
