Synopsis
The Cantonese dessert shop ‘Cheung Hing Kee’ in Kowloon City was established thirty years ago by the couple Cheung Hing and Hsiu Lien, famous for their red bean soup served in the neighbourhood. Their eldest daughter, Cheng Yip, dreams of soaring and becomes a flight attendant, while her younger brother, Cheung Ching, is a carefree university student. They are a typical Teochew family, but the turmoil begins when their mother suddenly suffers a stroke. The family starts to face the consequences that grief and new dynamics face upon them. What will become of the ‘Cheung Hing Kee’?
Director
Vincent Chow is an advertising director and a graduate of the Hong Kong Film Directors’ Guild. With over 20 years of experience, be has directed more than 100 TV commercials and has worked for brands like Huawei, Apple, New Balance and Revlon. His latest film Little Red Sweet (2024) was chosen as the closing film of the London East Asian Film Festival.
