Synopsis

Fleeing war, Tarek and Zaeed are two orphaned brothers who rely on each other to overcome their status as war victims. Unable to access public housing, Tarek pays for food and board by prostituting himself for his abusive pimp, Masi. Amidst all this misery, the murder of a local refugee serves as a cathartic event. The younger brother, Zaeed, wants to flee at all costs. Bobby, an Australian volunteer dedicated to saving the lives of refugees, hides out in a motel room. Her traumas have left her emotionally crippled. She must sell the seafood she harvests illegally before catching a plane back to Australia, the black market complicates her relationship with the sea and dangerously rekindles her memories of the past.
