Synopsis
Trending Topic (2023) chronicles the events that follow from an article published by Chen Miao, editor-in-chief of a platform and a woman committed to her profession. The film reveals the adversities that arise around the victim when she decides to denounce certain facts, endangering her own physical integrity. Truth and rigor come at a price, which is not always to be assumed, both in the journalistic field and for the protagonist.
Director
Xin Yukun is a director, screenwriter graduated from Beijing Film Academy in 2008. He is internationally known for his success in previous films such as The Coffin in The Mountain (2014), Distance (2015) and Wrath of Silence (2017). His latest work is Trending Topic (2023).
