Synopsis
Brenda’s earliest memories evoke her childhood with a white foster family before she was abruptly returned to her Aboriginal family. Decades later, she feels disconnected from both sides of her life. The lingering traumas of her past drive her to seek out the foster family with whom she lost touch. On her journey, she discovers secrets hidden by the government and the possibility of forging deeper connections with her family and culture. The Last Daughter is a documentary that chronicles Brenda’s journey to uncover the truth about her past and reconcile the two families that have been part of her life.
