Synopsis
Vincent and his father Tomas work in a glass workshop outside a city, when their lives are interrupted by a war that is raging in the country. The arrival in the village of an army colonel and his violinist daughter, Alliz, crushes the relationship between father and son. The love that arises between Vincent and Alliz is constantly threatened by the political differences of his parents. This is a portrait of a time when patriotism and social position are considered more important than free thought and artistic recognition.
Director
Usman Riaz is a Pakistani writer, animator and composer. At the age of 21, he was selected as a speaker for TED Talks in Japan, India, Malaysia, Costa Rica, Turkey, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. Usman studied graphic design at the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture in Karachi and later received a scholarship to study composition at the Berkley College of Music of Boston. He is the author of the story and script of The Glassworker.
