Strangers When We Meet

Synopsis

Who does not idealize the moment of his release after 27 years of captivity, with expectations as eloquent as difficult to realize? Especially after receiving 1.5 million yuan in compensation for demolition and relocation. This is the case of Lao Qin, who after serving his sentence only wants to get married, have children and start a new life. He unexpectedly meets Chang Juan, a young woman in the same situation as him, and both ex-convicts decide to get married. Qin is motivated by the desire to start a family and find stability, but Juan seeks financial security. Their respective aspirations for social reintegration, however, will separate them.
