Synopsis
After losing her husband and daughter, 70-year-old Mahin lives a lonely life in Tehran. But one day, she decides to meet her friends for afternoon tea and finds a new spark in her heart. She meets someone who makes her feel alive again, and the afternoon holds surprises and unforeseeable memories.
Director
Maryam Moghaddam (b. 1970) is an Iranian actress, screenwriter and director. She is best known for her performances in Closed Curtain (2013), Risk of Acid Rain (2015) and Ballad of a White Cow (2020). She has received several awards, including a Crystal Simorgh, as well as a nomination for the Iranian Film Critics and Writers Association Award.
Behtash Sanaeeha was born in Shiraz. He graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering and later abandoned his Master’s degree in Architecture to write screenplays and direct short films, documentaries and commercials. Her first feature film, ‘Risk of Acid Rain’, won the Best Screenplay Award at the 31st Fajr Film Festival, and was also nominated for Best Film in the Arts and Experiences section of the same festival. Sanaeeha’s best known work is the film Ballad of a White Cow (2021), which she co-wrote and co-directed. It premiered in the competition section of the 71st Berlin International Film Festival and subsequently won the Audience Award.
