Synopsis
Kindred (2023) is an autobiographical documentary that explores the emotional landscape of conflict arising from family unit division, separation, love, loss of members, and personal experience of social adaptation to circumstances arising from different forms of colonialism in contemporary society. Two friends, Adrian Russells Wills and Gillian Woody, of Aboriginal descent, were adopted by white families and, by reconnecting with their biological families years later, relive the trauma of separation and the difficulty of sharing their experiences.
