Synopsis
A couple is forced to rebuild their lives on a landfill in the heart of the forests of northern Iran. There they begin a journey in which they must learn to survive by honing their ingenuity to reuse the remains of the place. Over time they will also relate to the people around them, but what remains of the people who are determined to fight against their nature?
Director
Born in 1962, Manijeh Hekmat is one of the most promising figures in Iranian political cinema. Her film career began in 1995 as a producer; but it was not until 2002 that she launched her first film, Womens Prison. Hekmat has won awards at various film festivals such as the Venice Festival. For much of her career she has been directing documentaries such as Hundred Years Parliament in Iran (2005) or Women Come Out of the House (2006).
