Synopsis
The lives of a seemingly happy family are turned upside down when a policeman, Eddie Boy, murders a mother and her son. The policeman’s mother, Mamang Anita, takes the event in with quiet dignity as she identifies and reflects on a series of family abuses that began when her last husband, also a policeman, abused her daughter Minda. The chain of abuse does not end there, until the police uncover the history of family violence that is reproduced from one generation to the next.
Director
Joselito Altarejos, native of Masbate, has extensive training in theater and television; but it was not until 2007 that he decided to become a film director. His trademark as an author is provocation in extremely realistic films. Altarejos makes good use of audiovisual tools to create what he calls “Social Consciousness Cinema.” His goal is to create content that stimulates critical thinking among the Filipino population in the face of the country’s political crisis.
