Synopsis
In B Side: for Taylor (2023), Taylor, a 14-year-old Korean American adoptee, is grieving the death of her adoptive mother. Desperate to find her biological parents, she sets out on a quest to discover her true origins. However, the arrival of a Korean family in the apartment next door to hers disrupts her plans, uncovering an unforeseen truth about her biological origins.
Director
Born in Madrid and raised in Maryland, Christina YR Lim is a Korean American writer and director who explores Asian diasporas through innovative stories. A graduate in Directing and Screenwriting from the University of Southern California, she has gained experience in theater working with companies such as Goodman Theatre and East West Players. As a filmmaker, she has won awards at several US festivals and as a director she has directed award-winning films at US festivals such as Bentonville and RiverRun. As a screenwriter, she has been a semi-finalist for the Academy Nicholl’s Fellowship and selected for the Blacklist x Women in Film Feature Residency for works such as Gyopo (2019). The same year, she co-directed Samir (2019), a project funded by Warner Bros. In 2023, she made her first feature film as an author with B-Side: For Taylor.
