Synopsis

A House Named Shahana (2022) takes place in the 1990s. The main character of the film is Dipa, a combative, funny and outspoken woman who, despite her qualities, for the small village of Bangladesh where she resides, her marital status condemns her to a threatened existence. Throughout the film we see Dipa defy traditional conventions such as social stigma and the burden of family honor for her own benefit. Her courage, her sense of humor and her fighting spirit make a new Dipa blossom, far from conformism and submission.
