La experiencia personal y el relato autobiogr\u00e1fico junto con el archivo aportan al cine aborigen un material de primera mano para abordar las circunstancias actuales de la poblaci\u00f3n aborigen y la recuperaci\u00f3n de sus derechos como ciudadanos libres. Las tres pel\u00edculas de esta Rertrospectiva que acoge la Filmoteca de Catalunya son The Last Daughter (2022), Kindred (2023) y Winhanganha (2023). <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>El cine aborigen se caracteriza sobre todo por el car\u00e1cter reivindicativo de sus propuestas y por el inter\u00e9s de sus autores para corregir la historia y hacer un balance de la relaci\u00f3n entre las comunidades abor\u00edgenes y el poder colonial, cuyos representantes desde la llegada de James Cook en 1770 a Australia establecieron las reglas de juego. Cuando los brit\u00e1nicos desembarcaron en Australia, hab\u00eda m\u00e1s de 400 pueblos abor\u00edgenes, comunidades, grupos y subgrupos, con sus respectivas lenguas muchos de ellos, y se consideraban una cultura viva y la m\u00e1s antigua del planeta. La palabra ab-origine (desde el origen) aparece en ingl\u00e9s desde el siglo XVII y en Australia desde 1789, un a\u00f1o despu\u00e9s de la llegada a este pa\u00eds de la primera colonia penitenciaria. La primera desestructuraci\u00f3n de la sociedad que hasta entonces contaba entre 300.000 y 750.000 abor\u00edgenes repartidos en 250 naciones y clanes tuvo lugar como consecuencia de la epidemia de viruela, varicela, sarampi\u00f3n, gripe y tuberculosis, que acab\u00f3 entre 1788 y 1790 con un 90% de la poblaci\u00f3n aborigen. La palabra aborigen ha sido reemplazada en muchos casos por la de First Nations, probablemente como un intento para redimir la causa aborigen y demostrar la integraci\u00f3n social de aquellos ciudadanos que hasta 1962 no accedieron al derecho al voto, por el mero hecho de pertenecer a una comunidad aborigen. Es importante recordar que el principio Terra Nulius signific\u00f3 la puesta en marcha de un sistema colonial basado en la ocupaci\u00f3n de una tierra de nadie, donde los nativos fueron v\u00edctimas de las peores injusticias. La reclamaci\u00f3n por parte de los abor\u00edgenes de las tierras robadas por los colonos sigue en pie desde la d\u00e9cada de los 70 del siglo pasado. Pero el derecho de propiedad y ocupaci\u00f3n que otorgaba Terra Nulius al colonizador desde 1778 no fue derogado hasta 1992.<\/p>\n<p>El desconocido cine aborigen tiene un lugar destacado en esta edici\u00f3n del AFFBCN, en la que se ha tratado de dar prioridad en la Retrospectiva que acostumbramos a hacer anualmente a una cultura que se identifica con paisajes de una historia de resiliencia contra el poder colonial y la colonialidad. Bruce Chatwin (1940-1989) fue el gran introductor de estos paisajes en <strong>The Songlines<\/strong> (Los trazos de la canci\u00f3n) en Occidente. El libro, publicado en 1989, sigue siendo un manifiesto de la fascinaci\u00f3n que experiment\u00f3 este escritor y viajero, cuyo testimonio se desprende de un relato po\u00e9tico y autobiogr\u00e1fico que defiende los derechos territoriales de los portadores de una cultura, cuya identidad no admite negaci\u00f3n, exigiendo por el contrario una restituci\u00f3n de sus derechos. La literatura de los exploradores que han realizado expediciones al desierto australiano como The Bindibu Expedition, cuyos testimonios se recogieron en The Geographical Journal, vol 128, en marzo de 1962, han sido muy \u00fatiles para divulgar la historia de tribus perdidas que en la era de la civiliaci\u00f3n electr\u00f3nica y digital todav\u00eda carecen de un contacto real con la sociedad actual. <strong>The Lizard Eaters<\/strong> de Douglas Stockwood, miembro de la expedici\u00f3n, es uno de los testimonios que se incluyen en esta publicaci\u00f3n, informando sobre las condiciones meteorol\u00f3gicas extremas del desierto, donde habitan a\u00fan algunas de las tribus m\u00e1s antiguas. Literatura y cine se complementan, y con esta Retrospectiva de cine aborigen queremos brindar una oportunidad a nuestros p\u00fablicos para conocer de primera mano una de las culturas m\u00e1s antiguas del mundo. Silenciada en gran parte hasta finales del siglo pasado, y tras sobrevivir a la adversidad y a los intentos de poner fin a su existencia por parte del poder colonial hegem\u00f3nico, el resurgimiento de esta cultura encuentra tambi\u00e9n en el cine un medio de comunicaci\u00f3n que compite con la literatura y, como ella, una manera para una puesta en valor de su identidad
