Encara que pugui semblar un t\u00f2pic dir que les distribu\u00efdores espanyoles mostren cada vegada m\u00e9s inter\u00e8s per comptar amb un repositori cada cop m\u00e9s gran de t\u00edtols procedents del continent asi\u00e0tic, que fins fa relativament poc eren gaireb\u00e9 exclusius d&#8217;altres pa\u00efsos europeus, en general el cinema asi\u00e0tic t\u00e9 cada cop m\u00e9s pres\u00e8ncia no nom\u00e9s en festivals nacionals i internacionals, sin\u00f3 tamb\u00e9 als nostres cinemes. Els onze t\u00edtols que es podran veure fins poc abans de Nadal procedeixen de la Xina, Corea, Jap\u00f3, l\u2019\u00cdndia, Indon\u00e8sia, l&#8217;Iran, Jap\u00f3, Kazakhstan, Kirguizistan, Pakistan i Filipines, i s&#8217;han realitzat entre el 2022 i el 2023. <\/span><\/b><b><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">A Woman<\/span><\/i><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">, de Wang Chao, inaugura el programa d&#8217;aquest trimestre. Aquest cineasta xin\u00e8s, del qual a l&#8217;\u00faltima edici\u00f3 de l&#8217;Asian Film Festival Barcelona v\u00e0rem acollir una retrospectiva i v\u00e0rem poder comptar amb la seva pres\u00e8ncia, fa una interessant incursi\u00f3 en la vida privada i p\u00fablica durant la Revoluci\u00f3 Cultural a partir de la novel\u00b7la autobiogr\u00e0fica <\/span><\/b><b><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">Dream <\/span><\/i><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">de l&#8217;escriptora Zhang Xiu Zhen. La relaci\u00f3 de t\u00edtols mostra la prefer\u00e8ncia d&#8217;aquesta selecci\u00f3 pel drama social, encara que no s&#8217;ha excl\u00f2s la com\u00e8dia ni tampoc el g\u00e8nere documental, com es despr\u00e8n d&#8217;un t\u00edtol com <\/span><\/b><b><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">Separation of East Pakistan<\/span><\/i><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">, que vol ser un relat amb noves proves derivades de la recerca m\u00e9s recent sobre la divisi\u00f3 de Pakistan i la creaci\u00f3 de Bangladesh com a pa\u00eds independent. En la seva vida personal i familiar, ella pateix abusos diaris per part de la seva parella, a la qual mant\u00e9 i amb qui ha tingut m\u00e9s fills dels que podia permetre\u2019s. El 1991 va ingressar a l\u2019Acad\u00e8mia de Cinema de Pequ\u00edn, on es va graduar el 1994 i va comen\u00e7ar a treballar com a cr\u00edtic de cinema. \u00c9s aix\u00ed com va con\u00e8ixer Chen Kaige despr\u00e9s del rodatge de <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">Tierra Amarilla<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"none\">, qui el va contractar com a ajudant de direcci\u00f3 entre 1995 i 1998 per al rodatge de Ad\u00e9u a la meva concubina i <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">L\u2019Emperador<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"none\"> i <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">l\u2019Assass\u00ed<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"none\">. Durant aquest temps va escriure diversos relats curts que el van inspirar per a guions d\u2019algunes de les seves pel\u00b7l\u00edcules. Amb <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">Orphan of Anyang<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"none\">, que va rodar sense autoritzaci\u00f3, va fer el seu debut en el cinema com a director. Aquesta pel\u00b7l\u00edcula va ser seleccionada el 2001 per participar a la Quinzena de Realitzadors del Festival de Canes. El 2004 va realitzar el seu segon llargmetratge<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">, Day and Night<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"none\">, i amb <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">Luxury Car<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"none\"> va completar el 2006 la trilogia sobre la Xina en qu\u00e8 havia estat treballant durant m\u00e9s de cinc anys. La seva quarta i cinquena pel\u00b7l\u00edcula, Memory of Love (2009) i Fantasy (2014), que es va presentar a la secci\u00f3 Un Certain Regard del Festival de Canes aquell mateix any, malgrat la seva discreci\u00f3, mostren una maduresa narrativa per part del director. <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">Looking for Rohmer<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"none\"> (2018) revela l\u2019inter\u00e8s de Wang Chao pel cr\u00edtic i cineasta Eric Rohmer i la Nouvelle Vague, fins al punt de fer una pel\u00b7l\u00edcula sobre ell, encara que no necess\u00e0riament biogr\u00e0fica. En el seu \u00faltim any, va abandonar els seus estudis per matricular-se a l&#8217;Escola Nacional de Cinema de Mong\u00f2lia amb el gran director de cinema mongol Jigjidsuren. El 2019, a Batzaya li van diagnosticar leuc\u00e8mia, per la qual cosa li van fer un trasplantament de medul\u00b7la i va haver de sotmetre\u2019s a quimioter\u00e0pia durant un any.
