Cuando nos referimos al cine asi\u00e1tico estamos pensando en las industrias cinematogr\u00e1ficas de m\u00e1s de veinte pa\u00edses que creen en la cultura cinematogr\u00e1fica como expresi\u00f3n de un hecho global y local. A trav\u00e9s del cine de estos pa\u00edses podemos abordar geograf\u00edas pr\u00f3ximas y remotas que nos ayudan a comprender el mundo en el que vivimos. La programaci\u00f3n de este a\u00f1o es el resultado de una selecci\u00f3n de unos cien t\u00edtulos de entre los m\u00e1s de quinientos que hemos podido consultar y que debemos a los festivales que nos han precedido este a\u00f1o como los de Berl\u00edn, Rotterdam, Cannes, Locarno, el Far East Film Festival, Venecia y el festival de San Sebasti\u00e1n. No obstante, tambi\u00e9n hemos contado con la aportaci\u00f3n de los festivales de Shangh\u00e1i, Hong Kong, Busan, Jeonju, Calcuta, Goa, Kerala, Singapur, Melbourne y S\u00eddney, Oakland y Manila. Los festivales anuncian y se anticipan a lo que despu\u00e9s podr\u00e1 verse en la gran pantalla, aunque muchas de las pel\u00edculas que se presentan se quedan fuera del circuito comercial.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Uno de los objetivos del festival es explorar la vida cotidiana y dom\u00e9stica de este extra\u00f1o o extranjero que podemos llegar a ser formando parte de una historia colectiva, al igual que el sentimiento de pertenecer a un territorio o ser excluido del mismo, tal como el cine nos muestra. Estimular el inter\u00e9s por el descubrimiento y el conocimiento coincide obviamente con nuestra intenci\u00f3n para hacer llegar a nuestros p\u00fablicos im\u00e1genes de la vida colectiva o de las vidas de los individuos que pertenecen a una determinada comunidad. De ah\u00ed que la programaci\u00f3n pretenda ser m\u00e1s bien inclusiva, no tanto con la intenci\u00f3n de abarcar m\u00e1s t\u00edtulos cada a\u00f1o, como para mostrar no s\u00f3lo aquellos cuyos autores no pasan desapercibidos por contar con sus seguidores sino tambi\u00e9n los menos conocidos o cuyos referentes obligan a indagar su respectiva contextualizaci\u00f3n y sus propuestas. Queremos tambi\u00e9n dar un espacio a los nuevos directores para que presenten su primer largometraje en el festival, y encuentren aqu\u00ed una plataforma para dar a conocer lo que hacen fuera de su pa\u00eds.0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">El AFFBCN aborda una extensi\u00f3n geogr\u00e1fica muy amplia, que va desde Ir\u00e1n, Asia Central, una regi\u00f3n que comprende las exrep\u00fablicas Sovi\u00e9ticas de Kazajist\u00e1n, Kirguist\u00e1n y Uzbequist\u00e1n, a la que se suman Afganist\u00e1n, India, Pakist\u00e1n, Bangladesh y Sri Lanka; el Sudeste asi\u00e1tico desde China, Corea, Jap\u00f3n, Tailandia, Singapur, Malasia, Camboya y Vietnam; y Asia Pac\u00edfico con Australia y Nueva Zelanda. El cine que se nombra de estos pa\u00edses y que nos interesa de una manera particular es aquel que nos afecta, con la informaci\u00f3n que transmite, el que nos hace empatizar con las im\u00e1genes que vemos, el que de alguna manera nos secuestra y nos introduce en la pantalla haciendo que las distancias geogr\u00e1ficas se desvanezcan y acerc\u00e1ndonos a mundos que quiz\u00e1s acaban siendo m\u00e1s reales que el nuestro propio.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">El festival llega este oto\u00f1o con una programaci\u00f3n que se propone ser lo m\u00e1s representativa posible del cine experimental e independiente reciente procedente del continente asi\u00e1tico, sin excluir producciones que responden tanto al inter\u00e9s de un p\u00fablico conocedor de las cinematograf\u00edas correspondientes, como de aquellos que desean iniciarse en un cine no tan nuevo, cuya diversidad responde preferentemente a las diferentes narrativas que expone. El exotismo que en occidente se ha solido atribuir a estas producciones ha sido sustituido por la atracci\u00f3n que \u00e9stas \u00faltimas ejercen al construir culturalmente una identidad que se quiere inseparable de la pertenencia al territorio.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">La programaci\u00f3n de la presente edici\u00f3n del AFFBCN constar\u00e1 de un centenar de pel\u00edculas que se agrupan en las cinco secciones<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, Oficial, Oficial Panorama, Discoveries, NETPAC <\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">y<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Especial<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, todas a competici\u00f3n, en las que se distribuyen estrat\u00e9gicamente los diferentes t\u00edtulos que se seleccionen. Los jurados correspondientes se componen de aquellos integrantes designados a tal fin, directores, cr\u00edticos de cine y escritores que aceptan cumplir esta funci\u00f3n Este a\u00f1o contaremos asimismo con la participaci\u00f3n de directores que forman parte de las generaciones m\u00e1s j\u00f3venes de cineastas de los pa\u00edses de los que proceden y que presentar\u00e1n su primer largometraje, a menudo realizado despu\u00e9s de producir varios cortos. Como en ediciones anteriores, queremos poner el \u00e9nfasis en la historia, el conflicto y el drama, porque consideramos que son los g\u00e9neros m\u00e1s apropiados para la propuesta que deseamos hacer, con el fin de acercar posiciones y realidades contribuyendo al entendimiento entre las personas, sea cual sea el lugar donde habiten.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">La gran retrospectiva del cineasta chino Wang Chao cierra la programaci\u00f3n con las siete pel\u00edculas m\u00e1s relevantes de su trayectoria, que empieza con <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Orphan of Anyang<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> en 2001 y termina con <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A Woman<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> en 2022. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Este realizador independiente y experimental presentar\u00e1 adem\u00e1s <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Day and Night<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> (2004), <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Luxury Car<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> (2006), <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Memory of Love<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> (2009), <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Fantasy<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> (2014) y <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Locking for Rohmer<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> (2018). <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Wang Chao se gradu\u00f3 en la Academia de cine de Pek\u00edn en 1994 y se inici\u00f3 en el mundo del cine como cr\u00edtico, hasta que conoci\u00f3 al reconocido cineasta Chen Kaige, el cual le contrat\u00f3 como ayudante de direcci\u00f3n y con el que trabaj\u00f3 entre 1995 y 1998 en el rodaje de <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Adi\u00f3s a mi concubina<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> y <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">El emperador y el asesino<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. Durante estos a\u00f1os escribi\u00f3 varios relatos que inspiraron ciertos guiones para algunas pel\u00edculas. Su primer largometraje<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Orphan of Anyang <\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">particip\u00f3 en la Quincena de realizadores de Cannes en 2001. Esta retrospectiva ser\u00e1 presentada por Wang Chao en Filmoteca de Catalunya donde se proyectar\u00e1n los primeros tres t\u00edtulos que se mencionan aqu\u00ed. El resto se podr\u00e1 ver en las dem\u00e1s sedes del festival.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Este a\u00f1o la inauguraci\u00f3n del festival se celebrar\u00e1 con la proyecci\u00f3n de\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Yantzi\u00b4s Confusion<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> (2023), primer largometraje de la joven cineasta china Li Jue, la cual vendr\u00e1 a Barcelona para la presentaci\u00f3n de su pel\u00edcula, que tendr\u00e1 as\u00ed en Barcelona su estreno en Europa. A su vez la clausura del festival, que tendr\u00e1 lugar el 4 de noviembre un d\u00eda antes de que finalicen las proyecciones programadas para el domingo 5 de noviembre, contar\u00e1 con la proyecci\u00f3n de la pel\u00edcula australiana <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Royal Hotel<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, que es el segundo largometraje de la cineasta australiana Kitty Green. La cultura cinematogr\u00e1fica es cultura en general, y queremos insistir en la divulgaci\u00f3n de un cine que valoramos por su cercan\u00eda y por introducirnos en el interior de mundos que no llegar\u00edamos a conocer nunca si no es a trav\u00e9s suyo, como consigue hacer la literatura.\u00a0<\/span><span
