This course aims to better understand Iranian cinematography, which, although being popular in international film festivals, does not have much presence in mainstream media. In the eight sessions that Zara Razi will impart, Iranian cinema\u2019s history will be reviewed to reach the present and approach its protagonists through the works they have written and directed. This country\u2019s cultural identity finds privileged means of transmission and communication in the cinema, beyond the critical theories that allow us to analyze its contents. Based on figures such as Abbas Kiarostami, Majid Asghar Farhadi, Masoud Kimiayi, or Niki Karimi and Narges Abyar, Dr Razi will construct the discourse for the analysis of the state of this cinematography. She has a doctorate in journalism from the Complutense University of Madrid and has completed a master\u2019s degree in Social Communication at the same university, and another at the Central University of Venezuela.
